2021 Rules

  • All GA game, fishing and boating laws must be followed at all times.

  • All lake rules will apply

  • You must have a valid fishing license

  • Boats will be powered by electric motors only.

  • Gas motor boats are allowed as long as the lake permits them; however, ONLY electric motors may be used. (Exception for unloading/trailering only)

  • 5 fish limit with the exception of June-August, which will be a 3 fish limit

  • No team may remove their boat from the water and leave the property before the designated weigh-in time. Result will be forfeiture of that day’s catch. You may trailer early and wait for the tournament to end.

  • No trolling allowed

  • 12" minimum length limit (14” minimum length @ Rocky Mountain)

  • All fish will be measured with the mouth closed and the tail pinched using the Golden Rule.

  • .50 lb penalty for each short fish and/or dead fish

  • Anglers possessing more than the daily limit must notify the tournament director immediately upon discovery of the infraction and reduce his/her catch to the daily limit by releasing live bass. Anglers possessing more than the daily limit will be penalized 1 pound for each bass over the limit.

  • You may not cull any dead fish. Penalty for culling dead fish will be disqualification from that event, and no points will be awarded.

  • Dead fish are not eligible to win the big fish pot.

  • No stringers

  • No alcohol

  • Artificial baits only

  • 50 yds courtesy space must be maintained between boats, unless the boats are in agreement.

  • All fish will be weighed on the same set of scales

  • All lake and parking fees will be the angler’s responsibility

  • You must have an adequate size livewell to sustain a limit of fish

  • If inclement weather arises before the tournament starts, a majority vote will be taken to determine the decision of the event.

  • All monies will be paid 10 min prior to blast off. We will not hunt you down to collect money, you find us.

  • All live wells and coolers will be checked before your boat enters the water.

  • Any boats arriving late after blast off will not be accepted unless emergency situations only (ie: truck problems, trailer problems, tires, etc.) You must notify the President or Vice President if you have an emergency.

  • Tie breakers for single events will be used for 1st place ONLY.

  • Tie breaker format:

  • Total Weight (Adjusted for penalties if needed)

  • Number of Fish

  • Number of Live Fish Released

  • Big Fish Weight

  • If there is still a tie after the tie breaker format, all monies will be split.

  • Points will be awarded in 2-point increments for top 10, and 1-point increments for 11-25.

  • 1st-75, 2nd-73, 3rd-71…….10th-57, 11th-55, 12th-54, 13th-53, 14th-52......

  • Any person or team that zeros for an event, will receive 15 points less than the last place team weighing in a fish.

  • No bonus points for Big Fish of tournament will be awarded.

  • At least one member from each team must be present at weigh in to receive points

  • Top 12 teams in the points standings at the end of the regular season will be eligible to fish the Classic. If a team in the top 12 is not able to make it, the next highest finishing team in points will be invited until the slot is filled.

  • End of season points standings tie breaker (All ties will be broke)

  • Total Weight (Adjusted for penalties if needed)

  • Number of Fish Caught

  • Number of Live Fish Released

  • Biggest Fish for the Year

  • Each Team must list a Captain & Co-Captain at the first event fished.

  • If a team is to break up during the season, all points will remain with the Captain.

  • Teams not able to make a tournament, will be allowed to pay for the event prior to the start of the tournament to receive participation points.  No money will be accepted for a tournament after it has been completed.

  • Classic will consist of 12 Teams: Top 12 in final points standings + 2020 Classic Champions

    • Total of 13 teams if 2020 Classic Champions are not inside top 12

  • Qualifications for the Classic:

  • Teams must be paid Members

  • Teams must fish 4 of 7 events

  • Teams must finish in top 12 in points standings

  • Team AOY will not have to pay an entry fee for the Classic

  • Membership fees will be $50/person

  • Membership fees are due at the first tournament a team or solo competes in.

  • Membership fees will go towards awards and Classic Prize Pool.

  • 15% (rounded to nearest $5) will be withheld from every tournament and added to Classic Prize Pool.

  • Substitutes will be allowed to fish as long as one of the original team members are present. 

  • Substitutes are not required to pay a membership fee and may be used for 3 EVENTS ONLY.

  • Substitutes are not allowed to sub for a person fishing as a Solo.

  • Please contact the President or Vice President for official ruling regarding Substitutes regarding serious event. 

  • No substitutes will be allowed to fish the Classic, no exceptions.  All participants must be paid members.

  • Entry fees for Regular season events will be $60/team or $35/Solo. This includes Big Fish ($40+$10) or ($30+$5). 

  • Big Fish will be a max of $100, any additional money will be added to that day’s prize pool.

  • Classic will be a 2-day tournament, the entry fee will be $120/boat- no exceptions.

  • Off Limits for Regular Season events will be 3 days (Wednesday-Friday)

  • Off Limits for Classic will begin on Monday, October 25th (12 days)

  • Regular Season events will pay 1 in 4 boats up to 3 places, then will max at a 4th spot at 20 boats.

  • Top 3 teams at each event will receive trophies.

  • Weigh in will be done in hundredths instead of Lbs-Oz format

  • We will be teaming with Elco Electric Bass Fishing National Championship for 2021

  • 5 Qualifying events

  • Each qualifying event must have a minimum of 15 boats

  • Raffle 50/50: All money will be added to the Classic Prize Pool

  • $5 for 1 ticket or $10 for 3 tickets

  • Winner will be drawn at weigh-in

  • All anglers are responsible for carrying proper liability insurance, if desired.

  • Electric Bass Opens will in no way be held responsible for actions resulting in damage or injury while an angler is in route or participating in one of our events.

  • Late weigh in penalty- 1lb for every min you are late.

  • Automatic Disqualification after 15 minutes late (Unless Director has been notified and a plan is put in place)

  • Tournament Sponsors, including Elco Motor Yachts, LLC assume no responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of any competitor and will be waived from any liability.

  • If you have failed a polygraph test associated with any fishing tournament or have been barred from any fishing tournament trail you are ineligible to fish this tournament trail.

  • All members are responsible for knowing these rules.

  • All rules and disputes will be finalized by the president and/or vice president.
